What's wrong with the KIWI spectators?

I realize that the crowds in England and New Zealand are not as loud and noisy as, lets say, crowds in the sub-continent. But what we witnessed today was really surprising and actually disappointing. If a Pakistani batsman would hit a boundary, there would be a deafening silence in the crowd: infact, thats how you could tell if there was a boundary struck or not. On the other hand, you could hear a lot of noise from the sparse crowd if there was any wicket or high point for the Kiwi team. Now I am all for supporting the home team, but this was amazing. Remember the last months’ NZ trip of Pak, and recall how well the Kiwi team was supported by the Pakistani spectators, and how sporting and welcoming the Pakistani crowd was. Even Australian spectators support and applaud good performance from a visiting team. Isn’t this sad on part of the Kiwi crowd?

yaar on the banks i hardly saw any spectators there were very few spectators on day 1 and day 2, test cricket doesn't do it for the kiwi cricket followers or maybe the crowd CHOOSE there matches i mean if the aussies tour then the crowd wil rise in number becoz' of aussies bein ghew orld champs' and how that could easily pull in the punters etc....

JayZee putter,

I don't think New Zealand is down with Test Cricket. I think test cricket is loosing its appeal around the world also. They should work on improving ODIs because i think thats what more people want to see.

Zoab,
I have heard from reliable sources that something "very big" is happening in your life in a couple of days... so I am pleasently surprised that u found time to reply to this post, and be on gupshup. The point i am trying to make is not less crowd in tests, its about giving credit to the opposition team when they play well.

i have noticed that grounds in india and england r always or most of the time full of spectators in test matches compared to other test cric’ playin nations as of late. + the aussies 2 can drag good number of spectators for test matches but in pak i don’t know why our spectators r not attending the test matches as keenly as they attend the odi’s. :konfused: hopefully crowds for test matches in pak when india tour next year will be better than the current average.

Not true. people wanna see good cricket.

yeah everyone wants to see good cricket.. like sami's bowling in the 2nd innings... but its really frustrating to see things end up in a draw... thats when people start to lose interest
