Whats with the dirty jokes?

How are people so comfortable with passing dirty jokes related to toilet, body parts, intimacies and what not.

I used to get forward text messages from friends but i never replied or forwarded them but its not just them, its people in general - they are so comfortable with dirty jokes even if they make others creep.

I think its just not something decent to do overall no matter how NATURAL they are called.

What do you think?

I think people just have different comfort levels. I used to not be ok with it, but now I crack those jokes too. However, there is some stuff that is clearly out of my comfort zone.

There's no black or white about the issue, I don't think.

Depends on the level of frankness between two people. And if the joke is funny, what's the problem?

Reply to those messages with jokes of your own; don't be a buzzkill! :p

I think people who are that comfortable enjoy them. With those who aren't comfortable, don't find them funny either.

Its not an issue though, just a general discussion ..

If you start making them you get comfortable. If you've only associated with people who are more conservative then dirty jokes will probably make you uncomfortable.

Then again, there is crass, low brow humour like Jackass. Then there are subtle innuendos etc that are dirty but you could easily make them and people wouldn't notice. I think what you're referring to is the former. The latter, when done will IMO, is pretty funny.
