I agree. It's a stupid thing to boast about. It's just 4 games!
Whenever regular media outside the sports media gets involved it will involve tonnes of bakvaas!! And boy we have a LOT of bakvaas India media channels trying to make money anyway possible.

OK - serious reply coming up. 4 wins in 36 years is not significant. World cup comes once in 4 years. So cumulatively teams do not play each other enough to arrive at any statistically significant conclusion.
Better way to assess performance would be to look at the record of the teams against each other in all important tournaments. (I have no clue what those would be, since I mainly used to watch Test cricket in the old days, and so all this power play (batting, bowling power play) etc is all new to me.
Once we have consensus on what the top flight tournaments are, see what the cumulative win/loss numbers are for the team teams over the last 36 years (1975 being the starting point since that is when one day matches started).
I wonder how the numbers play out. Let the (potato) chips fall where they may.

These stats are as good or bad as the correlation between Sachin's century and India losing the match. Depending on which side of the fence you are on, you can use it to support your arguement :p

Looking at the record, there have been only 4 matches between the two teams since 1975 which India Won.
So the 4 matches span around 36 years. On average one game in 9 years. For me this statistics is totally crap. I do not get why Indian media and everyone else just start tooting their horn about this stats of idiotic proportion. Get over with it.

See man, we gave Sachin 4 chances to make his hundred and still he couldn’t do it.. had he scored the 100.. the match was ours…anyway, we didn’t wanted to play in mumbai anyway!!!
