Whats up with "Missed Calls" in Pakistan

Re: Whats up with "Missed Calls" in Pakistan

well we do have a missed call culture and a lovely one at that... cheap and . economical . The drtiver cudn'rt send asif an sms because he was prolly un-educated.... but even in England I have seen ppl giving ppl missed calls, infact when i first came here some of my uncles told me to just give 'em missed calls n they would call me back, just to save me some money.

Re: Whats up with "Missed Calls" in Pakistan

HAHAHAHA, it's like pinging someone.

Re: Whats up with "Missed Calls" in Pakistan

Its been a few months actually. What remined me of this was PCG's "Text Messaging" thread. I didn't really take any pictures of the City so I don't have much to share.

Re: Whats up with "Missed Calls" in Pakistan

Just set your phone to auto answer on the first ring, guarantee after a while no one will "miss call you" hah

Re: Whats up with "Missed Calls" in Pakistan

I still don't understand how the driver expected you to know what each of his missed calls meant - how so utterly confusing!!

Re: Whats up with "Missed Calls" in Pakistan

leaving a miss call (go figure that what I mean to say)

Re: Whats up with "Missed Calls" in Pakistan

I love your driver :D

Re: Whats up with "Missed Calls" in Pakistan

He was a character for sure. He assumed himself of my bodyguard at times, for unknown reasons. At one occasion, our rental car which he was driving was hit by a suzuki pickup behind our car at a traffic stop light and broke some lights or something. My driver got out of the car. I thought that he would go to the pickup's driver and he will probably ask for the money to repair the damages. To my extreme shock, as I was watching him in the back view mirror, he goes to the driver of the pickup and without saying a single word, he throws a very strong punch to the other driver, right on his face, causing a bleeding nose. He comes right back in the car and starts driving again. No expressions whatsoever on his face. I told him not to ever do stuff like this, at least in my presence. He refuses to even talk about it. He goes choRo saab koyee naheeN.

Re: Whats up with "Missed Calls" in Pakistan

^ oh my ! I bet u had a fun time in pak :D

Re: Whats up with "Missed Calls" in Pakistan

I thought it was confusing as well but most people I found doing it on a regular basis, knew exactly what each missed call meant most of the times.

Re: Whats up with "Missed Calls" in Pakistan

There is something called, SMS .... Rs1 per SMS, I prefer SMS than miss call. I hated & then to piss people off ... I attached hands free with auto answer ON. Pay if u make a miss call to me, people then either started calling me if they wanted to say something to me or start sending me SMS. I never make a miss when I am in Pakistan, even people advise me to do so.

Can one who can afford to have a mobile should be able to pay for the calls too.

Re: Whats up with "Missed Calls" in Pakistan

^ I completely agree with you.

Re: Whats up with "Missed Calls" in Pakistan

Asif2000: please give me that drivers contact info, I might need a driver when I visit Pakistan soon :D

Re: Whats up with "Missed Calls" in Pakistan

i do not believe in this

Re: Whats up with "Missed Calls" in Pakistan

as someone said, its okay when you have a protocol defined or the other person knows what a missed call would mean... but miss calling someone just for fun and stuff.. that really pisses me off.. i have friends who'd give missed calls all the time, and i'd be like why the hell.. they say stuff like, i was getting bored/ i was missing you/ why didnt you come online? etc etc. bhai if you care enough to miss me or worried that why i didnt come online.. CALL ME or else, leave me an sms!
