International cricket returns to Lahore after a long time and that also in the shape of an ODI. The stadium is more than half empty, maybe it will fill in later on, but what is going on? Aren’t the people of Lahore interested in cricket anymore. Being a Lahori myself I am mystified. Saby your comments please as you are there. In the late 60’s (yes all those who wanted to know my age can start guessing now) when I started to watch international cricket at the very same venue, it use to be full for test matches.
Well I'm a Lahorite too and in Lahore too..
The thing is that Bangla desh is such a week team and everyone knows we're going to win...there is going to be NO MATCH
Today a couple of friends of mine were discussing if we should go or not ....and in the end it was decided that we'll attend the one with South AFrica....
+the way they're adding new kids...is turning everyone off
ppl used to go to stadiums to see Waqar, Wasim, Shoaib, and Saeed....
Who would like to spend money to see a general's son getting his ass kicked by Bangali batsmen ?
Inzi is good but he is not as big a superstar as the ones i have mentioned!!
For a couple of years, I think there is going to be no change in the state of affairs of our cricket....
this is what happens when you fire more than half of your team at once!
Ehsan bhai, there isnt a lot of buzz around due to bandladesh's status. Yes they gave us more than a fright in tests but they are yet to come up with some fight in odis.. i m sure had it been some other team, crowd would have been better

I dont agree with you that much. Yes pakistanis miss wasim and waqar and co but main thing is bangladesh is the opposition.
But then why it was full house during previous 2 matches of Pak and BD series in Peshawer and Multan? I guess Pakistan Cricket Board has to make shift in policy. There were times when Lahore stadium used to be filled no matter what and now....
I guess PCB should shift big matches to small cities like Peshawer, Faisalabad, Multan, Gujranwala, Hayderabad....Local people will fill the stadium and will get entertainment of life time and PCB will get the money they want oh and when after long time there will be a match in Lahore, Lahorites will fill the stadium too.
The crowds are disappointing for a 1 day match. If it was me, I'd be more interested in seeing the stars of the future rather than ageing warhorses. Test cricket seems to be dead as a spectacle in Pakistan, I guess the 1 dayers will see packed houses against SA at least.
The stadiums at Multan and Faisalabad were full for the first 2 ODI's, thats why I was surprised to see the stadium more than half empty. I think the people of Lahore have lost their appetite for cricket. They are more interested in Patang bazi. :D
Maybe because PCB needs to hold these matches only @ minor or lesser known stadiums. People in those places don't get to see international match that often, thats what Australia did and India introduced some venues during Zimbabwe tour.
Places like Karachi and Lahore should only be reserved for bigger teams.

The truth is heroes sell. True some of these players may be heroes of thefuture but the big names are what sell, no matter what anyone says :p
