In the last few days, EVERY time I’ve logged onto this forum, there’s a new topic about “Would u marry a person who…” :

has a long beard

wears a hijab/abaya

I’ve even heard questions like would u marry someone who’s ugly … or… who has small breasts … or… a body builder woman… etc etc etc…

What’s up with all these questions??? They’re ridiculous to be honest! And people’s responses equally amaze me! I thought the bottom line was to marry someone who you know is going to take good care of you for the rest of your life? Full Stop.

But it seems like girls AND boys these days are very very fussy about choosing their life partner. They’ll probably date any living soul but when it comes to marriage they have a list of a thousand conditions for choosing their “perfect” bride or groom. (.. and still the divorce rate is only increasing every day)

So use this thread to post a list of the set of conditions that you want your future (or even present) husband or wife to meet. Here’s mine:

  1. Not asking for an imam but should be someone who at least knows what islam is about.. Will not set “5 waqt ka namazi” as a condition because this cannot be forced upon people. It only comes to people whom Allah guides.
  2. Should be someone loving and caring towards everyone
  3. Unlike desi mothers and anties, I won’t be looking specifically for a doctor or engineer but he should be someone well educated.
  4. Personality should be appealing (in terms of confidence, fun to be around with etc..)

And that’s all really.. I actually can’t think of anything else to say… everything I’ve listed above is pretty basic and common sense…

So now its your turn, ladies … and gentlemen! Who would be your PERFECT life partner??

I think my first one is pretty much the same as yours ... second condition would be someone who has a similar family environment to mine so they have a problem meshing in ... should have a university degree (not particular about which one) and their personality wise they should be who have patient enough to handle me on a daily basis ... and looks wise its waddi eyes and cute smile :)

  1. Someone who gives respect to all n commands respect from all too. Its vry imp for me that he is respectful for not only me, my family but his own too. Because i honestly feel if someone cant be of their familys then he/she can't be much for anybody else.

  2. Educated n Stable in life.

  3. Should have a well balanced personality i.e fun bt not a clown type! should be open minded bt not "bhegerat" :P.

  4. Should understand the importance of giving space to each other in marriage and be trustful n understanding.

  5. Should be goodlooking to me. I don't care what others think of him but he shud look good to me.

Plz don't tell me anyone here has ever even thought about using one of those match making sites.. who uses those?? desperate mommies, I guess!
