I’ve been slender (AH) since I was 14. But prior to that I was a pretty chubby kid. One of my cousins told me “Come back looking thin like (another mutual cousin of ours.” TACTLESS!
And when I lost the weight…(and many thought I looked good)…the minute she saw me…she says to my mom, “Why’d you make her thin?”
Ridiculous 
A on-the-heavier-side cousin of mine did not like me much when I was a chubby kid. When I lost the weight…she bluntly says, “I thought you were much cuter when you were fatter.” Pathetic. You never liked me much back then either. And she made the comment after not seeing me for five years. And shortly afterward…she says, “Yup you’re hair has gotten thinner”…and walks off. I could understand if she ASKED me why my hair had gotten thinner out of concern and if she had suggestions/advice for me. BUT to walk off after making a comment is tactless.
I was a teen then…still developing my self-esteem. Took me years to understand that her comments were a reflection of her own insecurities.
