What's the real solution for Baloch problem?

I simply do not want to rely on links, because most of them are anti-pak and I do not want to be biased here. But the issue is getting flared up ,and the region is becoming intensly dangerous. One must see that there have been some efforts from Pak government(especially during the Musharaff regime)to promote development in the region but parellel to that there were military endeavours to crush militancy in the region(such as killing of Mr.Nawab Bugti). The area is so rich with minerals and gas but lacking adequate water resources ,and inhabitants of the region are virtually devoid of water supply. The other day I watched a programme on ND T.V abt Baloch,in which the report said a train service is run by the government/authorities to feed people with water!!!The situation between both India and Pakistan is getting tensed to the level that India has warned Pakistan of raking up Kshmir issue and even it has accused Pakistan of it’s intelligence agency, for masterminding a deadly suicide attack on Indian mission in Kabul and of lately, atleast by a few quaters on the Indian side,to the serial bomb blasts that shook India recently.

Pakistan in response has started blaming India of indulging in Balochistan and FATA .

One can see all these blame games are part of political mileages but what’s the eral solution for Blaochistan? To my info, there goes not a single day without attacks in that region and the issue is getting wide attention now.

Re: What's the real solution for Baloch problem?

what i think that actual problem is that all [extreme] groups has made their position strong in balochistan areas and people r afraid to talk about them although these local mans know the exact position of these groups

Govt should set aside resources to provide desalinized sea water (Reverse Osmosis) atleast for the coastal regions of Balochistan.
** costs for doing this is pennies per gallon........Saudis used to desalinize by boiling now the RO method uses less energy and Saudis are growing and exporting Corn!**

Re: What's the real solution for Baloch problem?

I really don't see so many news/articles talking about "Baluchistan in flames" as much as I see gesto talking about it. Gesto can you please point us to the burning parts of Baluchistan where "separatists" are so active everyday? Thanks.

Re: What's the real solution for Baloch problem?

Interesting how the Baluch problem only flared up when we have a hostile government in Afghanistan. Pakistani government is too idiotic to speak up for the nation, the reality is there most definitely is foreign involvement in the issue, with intelligence agencies of nations like India having some degree of involvement. Its heartening to note that 99% baluchis are with Pakistan, you cannot take it away from us.

Re: What's the real solution for Baloch problem?

I don't think 3 big sardars of baloch are all that serious in developing Balochistan.
We need to empower ppl of balochistan by education + jobs etc.
That is only solution, other wise tribal chief would keep exploiting them.

It's called in Veil.

Finally a subject worthy of discussion. The issue of Balochistan in my opinion is two fold. Economic inequality and the old guard unwilling to relinquish power. There are serious economic discrepancies between Balochistan and the other areas of the country. These need to be corrected. A majority of the support for the rights of the Balochi people are valid and should be addressed.

Firstly infrastructure needs to be established. Road and rail links with Iran going through Balochistan will aid in the development of the area but also boost export and trade generally. Additionally it would be prudent to provide essential facilities like water and electricity to almost all areas of the province.

There are many cities in Balochistan other than Quetta and they should have access to these facilities. Additional generate employment opportunities. This could be done by providing special incentives to companies to establish offices in Quetta. Tax free havens and what not. Additionally to require that gas and oil exploration companies must use local people in their 40% of their employment in the area. These are all very common government policies around the world.

Basically we need to address the economic inequalities before we can address the political ones. The second part linked with all of this is that the local old guard that are a bunch of power hungry crazies do not wish to lose their power and hold over the people. The aim should not be to kill these people and thus eliminate any resistance because that would just breed resentment.

Rather one should provide economic justice to remove the support base of these egotistical *******s and then proceed to eliminate them quietly.

Re: What's the real solution for Baloch problem?

Why successive governments did not do anything towards the above mentioned ?
