Mr Cheebu. Your wife's brother is your sala. When used to describe relation it is okay but try not to use the word too often.
Its used also used as a swearword and usually the tone with which it is said with can tell if its meant as a swearword or not. When you call someone a sala youre implying that youre married to his sister and hence do husband/wife rituals with her. Which is kinda like kicking his honour in the nuts especially if you arent really married to his sister.
