Our friend has been caught drink driving and is due in court in a couple of weeks. I have read that he will most likely get a ban for 12 months and a fine of up to £5000. Does he have to have a solicitor with him? What could the solicitor actually do, could he get the fine reduced or could he save him from a ban? Is it actually worth getting a solicitor?
If Caprice cant get away with it how could an ordinary person?
His livelihood requires him to drive. If he is banned he will have to get a new job. Are they likely to take that into account when giving him a fine? He is waiting for a solicitor to get back to him but he just asked for any information from me. So if anyone can has any info. Thanks

i believe the punishment should be very severe for drunk drivers

Sentences vary...lucky he didnt cause an accident...but on a side note if his job is to drive then being caught drink driving is gonna damage that...
If the job requires him to drive and hes got drink driving on his record he wont get hired...so you had better hope he gets a slap on the wrist or the fine or hes never gonna get hired for this type of job again...
And Sheraz whilst i agree that drink driving should be punished they arent as bad as people who commit crimes premeditated...as in someone who kills someone whilst drink driving shouldnt be looked on in the same way as someone who say stabs someone...

everybody makes mistakes, but this mistake is something which can ruin somebody else's life. your friend made his/her choice, I have sympathy for your friend but he/she knew that this can cost his/her job.
