What's the deal with Kiri?

You know that cream cheese spread that comes in squares and insanely popular with people living in the Gulf. I know it is made in France, but is it as popular there?

Yep Kiri - processed cream cheese is big out here and all over the Midd East its the Midd East equivalent to Primula or Philadelphia :k:

Re: What’s the deal with Kiri?

I brought some just after reading this thread few days back.
My verdict: I like my Philadelphia better :snooty:

Re: What's the deal with Kiri?

Kiri garlic and herbs is yummy.

Re: What's the deal with Kiri?

kiri is available in pakland as well!
It tastes nothing special but a reason it is very popular might be the convenience of pre-packaged squares as opposed to bottled cream cheese or normal sized philadelphia...

Re: What's the deal with Kiri?

btw I think cow brand cheese triangles are quite popular in Gulf as well!
