Well i placed my order, for warid and jazz cards but i received an email asking me a copy of my passport (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) and bank statement (!!!!!!!)
Why do they need them? And I'm not gonna send them these documents!

they need it for security reasons and fraud prevention, as product are non tangible therefore many people say we did not receive it or not ordered.
this was a headache for us as well that was the reason we closed down gift to pakistan section.

hunh - what? that's weird... I've been using online gift services to Pakistan for almost 8 years now - without any issues.

sigh, anyway I've switched to another site (786gifts) and they asked me the same but they gave me the option to hide my personal info except name and address:
"If you still feel insecure, please feel free to over line (hide) any information such as credit card number, license number, passport number or any other information you don't want to display. We have no problem with that, we are only concerned with the name and address information that you have already provided us while placing your order."
So I sent it (passport copy) as Junaid001 told that it was a normal procedure. I hope it'll go smooth... I'm a bit worried.

emarkaz should have asked for card only i guess no use for passport.
you shouldn't be worried much, your basic information is already visible to owners/managers or staff depending upon security clearance of staff what they actually needed it for was making sure you are the one who ordered and you own the card.
normally businesses ask for card copy with authorization with few digits of card truncated or deleted for security reason.

most probably you had ordered either bouquet or cakes etc or may be youhad been their customer already they didnt needed it.
this may have been for phone cards as these are black listed items.

WTF?? when do they ask for passports?? Never experienced that.
I personally dont like 786 because their prices are just too high
tohfay.com has impressed me with awesome customer service
Well everything went smooth, the pin code of the jazz card has been sent by email 4 hours after I sent them the copy of my passport.
