interesting remark, let’s try a little mathematic:
World GDP 2004 : 41,290,410 million $
World population 2004 : 6,364,981,000
So GDP per head on the planet in 2004 : 6, 487.12 $
Roughly 125$ a week
seems like getting rid of the poor means getting of the rich:D, how many of you are ready to live on 6 ,487.12 $ a year??
if people had no hope to get more than 6 ,487.12 $ a year, would they work? invest, produce and run the economy? well no USSR prooved us it’s not possible, human minds are weak and can not accept social justice, they want to win, and winners means loosers and loosers are poor.

Break the 80:20 rule. How this will happen ? Answer > Make the economic strategies for poor people or 80% of the whole population.
This is the same mistake that mushy govt did they are still folowing 80:20 rule and this will become the cause to kick out mushy from power in next election.

no, take all the wealth abusive leaders has stolen from their poor countries (hint: africa, south asia:D) and use it to repay third world debt:D
it will increase the trust investors lack in thirld world country by proving they want to get rid of corruptiun, that will increase investment, productiun: and then people from these countries will get better off!

Poverty can not be eliminated, but can be reduced by some sort of egalitarian system which provides for equal opportunities and conditions. As long as there are social classes and issues like race, ethnicity, and gender issues poverty can not be killed, whereas the poor can be killed any time.

Killing Poverty, for me, means killing poverty in my neighbourhood, town, city, unlike most of you who take it for killing global poverty.
I understand POVERTY CANNOT BE ELIMINATED but it CAN BE REDUCED. And that can be achieved by being a lil more considerate than we are. Like if we all take a look at the way we spend, i m sure most of us would come out LUXORIOUSLY EXTRAVAGANT. On the other hand if we think over the lives of the poor in our neighbourhood/town(specially if u live in pakistan), we wouldnt want even in our worst nightmares to live the same life.
So for me, its a matter of attitude. If the rich start feeling for the poor, the lives of poor can significantly improve. If I start feeling n providing in one way or the other for ONE poor family in my town, the world poverty would lessen by atleast 5-6 persons.
Talking about formulas is easy but useless. Its when you start doing watever lill you can for the poor, that their lives start improving.
Think about doing activities that we can start with the help of a few friends. Like spending some amount out of our pocket money for buying medicines for the poor (i say that coz the public healthcare in pakistan is meant just for the upper class. Its too expensive for the poor). Or we can try buying books, clothes for them.
Let me share with you a story:
A woman walked along the beach, throwing starfish that had been stranded by the outgoing tide back into the ocean. There were hundreds of them to return to the water and, obviously, she couldn’t begin to accomplish that task. A cynical man came along and asked in a most arrogant manner, “What possible difference do you think you can make for all those starfish?” The woman stopped down, picked up another and, as she tossed it into the water, she replied in a quiet, confident tone, “For this one, it makes all the difference in the world.”
