Yeah, I think it's the "mandatory" public primary school that children have to attend until the 5th grade. After that the state's job to educate children is done. LOL

lol...doesn't the name speak for itself..
khoti schools are substandard "taat schools" in villages where the level of education is very very low...it's a very sad situation, even the teachers don't know what they are teaching their and they beat kids up all the time...

you are right upto some extent but its Govt. Primary School 
… I never listened this terminology in my area but i listened this term in Lahore and associated towns … But I think they have many public (Pvt.) schools over there so they call Govt. School (who are cheaper in sense of fee and facilities) Khotti School
But I don’t know why they don’t say Khooti College

In khoti school it was the masters that got beaten up…
I was reprimanded by my elders for wanting to use the Dutch/french Masterjee as an archery butt. 
No private school let kids run wild like our khoti school… 
But all of great writers and poets are been from khoti school which really enhance their knowledge bcoz of their sincere master g who taught them 0 period without any Tution fee …
