What's in your dream kitchen?

What appliances, tools, furniture, etc. do you find indispensable? What’s on your wish list?

Re: What's in your dream kitchen?

My present kitchen is not very large but its comfortable in that it's set up to entertain, you can cook and interact with guests at the same time. I think I like the fact that it overlooks into the family room, and you can watch TV as you cook as well. So in my dream kitchen I would want it to have that amenity so this kitchen it’s looking into the family room. The kitchen I have in my mind is spacious and airy, it has a window above the sink, and the window is framed with dark red flowy cafe style curtains that look into my well-manicured lawn that stretches out before me. The kitchen cabinets are spacious and are made of dark wood with glossy white marble knobs. The countertops are made of baby blue marble slabs, and the surface space is plenty. The back walls of the kitchen are decorated with patterned creamy white and baby blue tile designs. There is an island in the center for extra surface space and cabinets underneath for more storage. I love the idea of extra storage space because I like the clutter free look. The island has stools so visitors can pull up and chat with me. The appliances are all stainless steel and the fridge is enclosed in wooden panels. I have a built in pantry for food storage. I have a nook that hosts a breakfast table and is surrounded by windows. These window are framed by the same curtain above the sink window for consistency. As for the all the modern gadgets I want them all food processer, juice it machine for fresh orange juice in the morning, hand blenders to puree soups etc.. My dream kitchen has jars that are filled with chocolates, and freshly baked cookies. There is a coffee scented candle lit because I love the aroma of coffee shops. That is my dream kitchen. & I love to dream…. also I am obviously bored. I dont even know if I answered your question...

Re: What's in your dream kitchen?

Yes, you did answer my question and your kitchen sounds nice! I have a kitchen that opens up into the family room and I have a love/hate relationship with it. It's great for entertaining a small group of adults and when it's just the immediate family. I have a center island that I can serve food on. However, when the extended family (up to 75 people, ~20 under the age of 10) is over or a bunch of families, there is no separation between the kitchen and the kids. The women naturally occupy the family room and the kids follow. Not only do they wreck havoc by opening drawers and grabbing things off of the counters (sometimes sharp, hot things), I become the goto person for washing their hands and giving them water, etc. Also, I find that people loitering in the kitchen just slows me down. I want to get stuff done and get out of there. Any solutions....

Re: What's in your dream kitchen?

I know what your talking about there are obvious disadvantages too depending on who is visiting. all of that happens at my place too, but I think its more of the guests responsibility to be considerate of the hostess and not make it distracting or overbearing for her. Other than trying to complete more tasks beforehand and hinting the parents to pay active attention to the kids whereabouts is the only suggestions I can think of.

Re: What’s in your dream kitchen?

This is how my dream kitchen should be. Neat and wide enough to roam about. I love white the most in the kitchens. Though its hardest to keep clean and sheen if its white.

Re: What's in your dream kitchen?

Mirage, that litchen is veeeeerry similar to my brothers new kitchen in his new house, only difference is her has and aubergine glass splash back and 3 bar stools. MashAllah it is gorgeous he also has 3 velux windows above that bring in so much light. I would love to have and island in my kitchen , when we move inshAllah. An open plan kitchen, with casual seating area to one side, and island, all the mod cons aaahhhhhhh it would be lovely!!!!!

Re: What's in your dream kitchen?

Kitchen with a maid in it.

Re: What's in your dream kitchen?

Yeah , thats a beautiful kitchen Mirage ..

I do have black and brown kitchen with magenta splashbacks ... I think black looks really cool in a bright kitchen ..

Would have loved to go for a white kitchen , but they lose their clean spotless look after a while ..

I would definitely go for a wood kitchen or Aubergine and white kitchen with an island in my next home :@:
