I tried making oatmeal with fruit yest and it turned out awesome. I made it kinda like the Apples and CInnamon oatmeal sold in packets by Quaker. It was pretty yumm and much better than plain old oat meal.
I boiled together 1 grated apple, 2/3 c milk (you could also add apple juice but i didnt have it), water and a bit of cinnamon powder. Then ia dded 2/3 c oatmeal to it and let it simmer on very slow heat for 10-15 mins. Adjust the sugar content. The apple i used wasnt too sweet so i found myself using some brown sugar. It turned out awesome. Makes 2-3 generous servings.
When we were in switzerland, every hotel we stayed at served this dish for breakfast mostly with apples. I tried searching for it online when i came back and i thin kit was muesli with grated apples and yoqurt. The ppl i asked in swiss land didnt know an english name for it. But my, my, it tasted heavenly.
Sunset eyes, is that how you would make muesli though? with yoqurt and some fruit?
its usually some cold cereal for me...
on weekends, maybe an omelette with toasted bread.but the husband usually prefers roti and salan from last nite for breakfast, weekends or week days.....
For a change sometime I take ready-made paratha and bake it with beaten egg (with red chili powder, salt and oregano) on top of it and it taste yum yum with Chai

Huh? What do you mean? Are you talking about porridge? The oats? Its just oats boiled in water, once the water has evaporated, add milk according your desired thickness and add sugar/honey to sweeten!
Ira, i was jst questioning sehar's parfeit if i can use museli instead which ppl have as cereal sometimes in the UK or you can make museli bars. Its jst a mixture or oats, nuts and raisins.

Sunset, i think we are both confused. What i meant by making muesli was how to serve it. I have never had it knowingly.
Haha..i sprinkle some sugar on top too but I DONT have it salan. I used to have alot when i was in Peshawar but here in UK i have cream with paratha…yummy!! Its delicious!
I think i really am confused! You can add milk to it and have it as cereal or you can add it to crumble when making fruit crumble!
Sunset_Eyes: I just googled 'museli' and I think it is granola. Granola just gives the crunchy texture in anotherwise smooth yogurt parfait. Vanilla yogurt is nothing but slightly sweetened yogurt. Why dont you try it out and see, I have a feeling it'll be just as good. Do let us know how it goes.

Ooohhh...nice Sehar...thanks for the research, dunno why i didnt do it myself...Nowadays, its so hard to find strawberries, and once you do find them, tooooooooooooo expensive.
