What's behind all this? 'ism!'

How come nobody has commented on this yet!

Even if Sarfraz allegedly complained about Miandad (though I very much doubt that’s the case), such baseless allegations by Aamir Sohail are unhelpful and uncalled-for. They do nothing for team unity and harmony.

Sarfraz is doing a good job as captain. He’s still learning the art of captaincy. Let him settle in his new role. He’s at least not as defensive as his immediate predecessors Misbah and Inzi.

Sohail should support the captain and the team regardless of which part of Pakistan they hail from.

I respect Aamir Sohail the player but such cheap comments are truly regrettable. Is he trying to become Sarfraz Nawaz no. 2?

Re: What’s behind all this? ‘ism!’

Former India captain Sourav Ganguly criticised former Pakistan opener Aamir Sohail for criticising captain Sarfraz Ahmed even though the Men in Green qualified for the final of the ICC Champions Trophy for the first time ever.

Sohail’s comments came after Sarfraz’s men thrashed pre-tournament favourites England in their own backyard on Wednesday, where he claimed that the wicketkeeper-batsman should not be too proud of his achievements, stating that they are down to some sort of pre-planned setting.
Pakistan team thanks fans, asks for more prayers
While talking to India Today, Sourav calls Aamir’s comments ‘ridiculous’. “Yea you must be stupid, ridiculous,” said Ganguly. “Somebody who played for the country and captained should be appreciating the way they [Pakistan team] come to the final.”
Ganguly also feels the players need to be lauded for overcoming the odds. “What system these boys are getting back home? Nothing. There is no support and no structure,” he said. “They don’t have any international cricket back home, and yet they’ve beaten South Africa, Sri Lanka and England to get to the Champions Trophy final. I find it absolutely ridiculous. It shows poor culture and poor taste, and he should not be doing all this.”

Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh also supported Ganguly’s statement and said such statements will only serve to reduce Sohail’s respect.
“If you don’t respect your own team, you will lose respect,” said Harbhajan. “I am sure these guys are jealous because they thought Pakistan will not reach this far.”

The former India off-spinner also praised Sarfraz and his men. “They’ve worked really hard to reach this far and I feel so bad when ex-players and captains talks bad about players even after they achieve something great,” he said.

Re: What’s behind all this? ‘ism!’

Who needs Indians/Afghanies when we’ve internal enemies like Amir Sohail. Cheap shot

Re: What’s behind all this? ‘ism!’

Amir Sohail led Pakistan in 6 test matches, winning only 1 test.
Amir never led Pakistan in T20I, but led in 22 ODIs, winning 9 … thus his win in ODI is 41 percent.

As for Sarfraz, he did not led Pakistan in test. As for ODis and T20Is, Sarfraz ‘win percentage’ is already better than any past Pakistani Captains.

In ODI, Sarfraz led in 8 matches, winning 6. Thus, win = 75 percent.
In T20I, Sarfraz led in 7 matches, winning 6, Thus, win = 85 percent.

If one compare Sarfraz win percentage with last 3 predecessor captains. Even though Sarfraz did not led Pakistan in many matches (he led in 8 ODis and 7 T20Is), one can see positive difference.

ODIs:
Misbah win percentage = 51.7
Afridi win percentage = 51.3
Azhar win percentage = 41.3
Sarfraz win percentage = 75

[Note: if Pakistan loses against India on Sunday than win percentage would go down to 66.7 … so, it is too early to say that Sarfraz would keep his win percentage better than every past Pakistani captains, but it is possible that he would]

T20I
Misbah win percentage = 75
(Misbah only led in 8 T20Is, won 6 and lost 2)
Hafeez win percentage = 60.3
Afridi win percentage = 45.3
Sarfraz win percentage = 85.7

So, obviously Amir Sohail criticising Sarfraz Captaincy is meaningless, full of stupidity, biases and jealousy.

Ian Chappell was one of the best Australian test Captain, under whom, Australia became almost invincible. Ian led in 30 test, won 15 and lost 5. So, let see what Ian Chappell says about Sarfraz Captaincy?

Bring this guy on GS.. Luved his monologue on this topic, well some of it.

Re: What’s behind all this? ‘ism!’

This clown is getting worried because things are going well now, PSL had two years, we are already seeing some quality players coming in and what all this means that Najam Sethi is doing good enough job to stay where he is while this clown and other clowns like him wont become PCB chairman. Hence, he is barking at a time when finally team is clicking. This idiot along side Waqar, Latif, Miandad are the ones who always were after something other than performing. I still remember sohail and waqar revolting against Wasim at a time when Pakistan team was playing perfectly, think it was 1995/6.

Re: What’s behind all this? ‘ism!’

Ganguly, Harbajan and Anchor on Indian media showing surprise and taking Aamir Sohail statement to task, defending Pakistan victory. Very nice, relevant comments and appropriate advice to Aamir Sohail.

Re: What’s behind all this? ‘ism!’

But the question is y he is doing all this specially wen team is doing good.
Can it be only due to jealousy. I don’t think so. .. There can be something more fishy behind it unless he is gone totally mad.

Re: What’s behind all this? ‘ism!’

i never use mean words on this forum but hard to control emotions…iss haramzaday mean khabees aadmi nay jo bakwas kee hai, he shd be thrown away from every pak channel. do not ever invite him. talking complete nonsense and letting rest of the world laugh on us when we are winning. if he has not control on himself, then stay away from TV. you are ex-skipper of pakistan, control yourself idiot.

To be fair he should have apologized for the words he used. But right now we should move on and focus on the final
