The insurance payout to the beneficiaries of an American soldier who dies in the line of duty is $400,000, while in the eyes of the U.S. government, a dead Iraqi civilian is reportedly worth up to $2,500 in condolence payments – about the price of a decent plasma-screen TV.

Re: What's an Iraqi Life Worth?

nothing new there. White people's lives have been more expensive and valuable since the colonial times, while the "barbarian uncivilized" brown or black native's life hasn't been worth more then the white man's shoe, in the eyes of of white people.

The same old colonial/imperialist adventures are happening right now.

Re: What's an Iraqi Life Worth?

Here we go with whitey-bashing again. I hate to break it to you Pak Racist Heart, but the $400,000 is paid to the beneficiaries of any American soldier, white, brown, black or green.

Now doe this policiy favor American soldiers' families over foreigners' families, yes. But it is not fair to make it yet another evil white man issue.

Re: What’s an Iraqi Life Worth?

What about Latin, Black, “Asian” people in US military, are they not worth the same amount as white? Things are not as black and white as you think they are, so don’t be racist/prejudiced. You could’ve said “American”, or “Western” if you really wanted to stereotype/generalize.

Re: What’s an Iraqi Life Worth?

If a 14 year old American girl was raped while her family was murdered by the enemy what kind of headlines would it produce? What if she were Isreali?
You honestly expect me to believe its on par with the same acts ocurring in Iraq right now?
The hypocrasy at the heart of American society speaks volumes, all you have to do is listen.
