oh god 16 yr old.. get her a perfume lotion gift set... omg all the ones memtioned above like miracle , clinique are for aunties ...
for young girls u should go with something like tommy girl , last christmas paris hilton was the biggest sell at our store but some ppl hate her now so i dunno abt that, orr guess1 and guess 2 guess gold is new ... oh yea u should get juicy couture thats it .. its the most fab one out there. but its pricy...

Perfume: Chance by chanel, classic lacoste
It's a classic smell and personally I love the stuff
But is u want to get something more girly go for tommy hilfiger brand, and I think britney has a new perfume out. Lacoste's touch of pink is really nice too

to me a 16yrs old should get a phone as gift 
(becoz this is what they like at this age ) and my be some jewellery as someone else mentioned it earlier some anklets bracelets earings belts stylish shoes a new pair of jeans some nice tops there is a big list of things you can get her but it depends what she like/want
or may be a GHD straightner (girls love it)

he would have to check with her mom b4 buying her a cell phone. Not every parent allows their 16 yr old to have one…my parents didnt.

Or forget the rest and buy her GHD straighteners, they cost £130 and they are the best, u can buy them off hairdressers or online- be sure u get the real think (The real ones have a hologram on them)
I remember I got my GHD for my 16th and I loved them, the poor things have died on me now- but I am 20 now so they lasted for 4 years
