Whatever happened to Gulgulays and Shakarpaarays

It does not look like that people even make them any more for Iftari.

Anyone has made them in recent years ?

Somehow I can bet that Adrasteia has :hmmm:

She looks like one of those Gharara aunties who like to eat Gulgulays and ShakarParays

anyone??

Re: Whatever happened to Gulgulays and Shakarpaarays

Niksik do I to you look like a Gharara Aunty ? :konfused:

Re: Whatever happened to Gulgulays and Shakarpaarays

Not until TLK defines it first. Then I'll give my verdict.

Re: Whatever happened to Gulgulays and Shakarpaarays

See I made my point .. out of 3 people only Adrasteia has eaten both

Gharara aunty .. :hmmm: I am afraid I have to give reference from the sourses that only Adrasteia can understand ..

Gharara aunty is like Arsh-e-Muneer kind of aunties

(Arsh-e-Muneer was an aged actress who used to play typpical gharara type cahrater roles in TV dramas)

Re: Whatever happened to Gulgulays and Shakarpaarays

So in that case, Adrasteia is a modern day gharara aunty.

Re: Whatever happened to Gulgulays and Shakarpaarays

TLK if you wanto borrow my last eid's gharara then all you have to do is ask.

I'll send you matching sandal too so Niksik can use them on your head

:rotfl:
In these modern times people will like them if they are sold by some big name store .

My mother used to make them . Many years ago I had any of those.

Re: Whatever happened to Gulgulays and Shakarpaarays

Niki where are you going to get the shakarpaarays from :konfused:

Same .. gulgulay was a common item of iftari, once ..

From Punjab Sweets. They make 'em good.

I'll ask about gulgulays also.

Like Tim Hourtons can call them TimBits and sell them for 3 dollars a dozen

Oh my gawd! Don’t make me laugh that hard in ramadan. My stomach hurts!
:omg:

aur Bakri tum to MAJJ lag rahi ho ge :rotfl:

Re: Whatever happened to Gulgulays and Shakarpaarays

okey tlk

Look at all the threads started about Sehri and Iftari’s .. all started by quom ki aurtain

Re: Whatever happened to Gulgulays and Shakarpaarays

My mum used to make heaps and store 'em in containers.
Gulgulays were the best though however you couldnt store 'em for long cause of ants.

Namak and Shakar paras are very easy to make, easier than baking a cake.

mum used to add zeera or kalonji in namak paras to make them more tasty.
