No i don't think the person is stupid or anything if there's nothing that you have done wrong then you just have to have patience and let that other person come around on their own

there isn't much you can do with people who jump to conclusion like that just give them some time

You do your part and let them do theirs. I know it can be quite hard if the feelings are not reciprocated but it depends on your faith and will. At the end of the day, nobody is there for you but only ALLAH. And he is the only who will pay you back for your goods.
