my name is afshan...i was told that it meant "glitter"..u know, the stuff women put on their faces or whatever....my persian collegue says afshan in persian means combing/brushing ur hair....
either way, i hate my name, especialy when white folk pronouce with the N....they make it sound liek afGhan....

know how u feel...whenever i get junk email/mails, they think im a man...and write "Dear Mr. Afshan (last name)..."...especially on the phone....."is a Mr. Afshan (LN) there?"....im like "u mean Ms....?"....lol...
