Re: what you guys feel like eating after you come back home from a long journey
I think it really depends on your family and their tastes.
Its almost a tradition with my parents, when they come vfrom Pakistan its always pizza. Thats one thing they miss while there.
When hubby and I go to Canada, some kinda meat or rice dish...when we come home, any take-out will work for us b/c I am just not in mood to cook.
Re: what you guys feel like eating after you come back home from a long journey
no no no, they want local stuff.. seriously, they have had home made food there too, but stuff that they like but its not as easy to get there or they did not get a chance to eat it etc.
pizza for the kids dude, good ol american style pizza..
juices..the juices in india are not quite the same from what my pals tell me.

X2, they ate Pizza a lot over there. I understand your logic. One thing they probably did not have is Beaf Steak as Beaf is not available there. Maybe Beef Steak? Even my kids love it when I slice it in finger size pieces for them.

No my kids are not too much into soda although Marya loves to drink Pakola sometimes ..
They like hot dogs. We dont get halal cold cuts or nuggets here. I dont think that they are very fond of the frozen nuggets that are available in desi grocey store.
TLK how long were they away for? i went pakistan a few months ago for 2 weeks, and i missed orange juice, also really missed english foods, was sick of desi foods by the end of my time there lol.
but after the flight home i felt really bloated from having eaten the plane food and then just sat in my seat doing nothing, so its possible they will all want something really light. unless the journey home from the airport is gonna be a long one, then perhaps theyll want a full meal lol.
personally i wanted mashed potato and fish cakes lol, something i couldnt find in pakistan, not sure you can find it in india,or at least,it doesnt taste the same anyway.
good luck, am sure your family will be happy with whatever effort you make :)
