I think if you would have stated this in the first place, it would have avoided a lot of confusion. You made it seem like he was materialistic by your initial post, perhaps by error. It all makes more sense now. You’re caucasian, non muslim, living in England, and he is currently back in Pakistan after the death in his family, right? So now after a few weeks when things have somewhat settled for him over there, he may be taking the next step in at least letting his family know about you, by asking for the photos and stuff. It was a way for him to get more info about you to his family who aren’t going to be able to see you. It looks to be a positive step that he is taking in making your relationship something serious. I hope things work out!
