Re: What would you do?
True. :hinna: Such a tough life.
Re: What would you do?
Why just husband? a wife can act in the same way too.
anyhow if i am invited at my mates house with family. and my spouse doesn't like my mate's spouse etc etc then fair enough. i will go for the party and i'll say that my spouse was busy with some work thats why couldn't make it. if confirmation is needed before hand then i will tell my spouse to talk to them directly and say "that you are sorry but you have some really important work to do though you will try your best to come but likely chances are that you wont be able to"
Re: What would you do?
If you want to go then just go. Those reasons aren't good enough for you to prevent going to a dinner you want to go to. Of course if you both just don't feel like going or don't want to go.. that's another thing.
Re: What would you do?
you can tell your friends that you and your family have been invited on same day & same time by someone from your inlaws and you can not say "no" to them.
Re: What would you do?
She says, "I will not take 'no' for an answer."
That doesn't sound like an appropriate way to invite, say yes and don't go and she'll learn the lesson.
Re: What would you do?

I'm just going to have to come up with a brilliant excuse.
