Salam and eid mubarak! Hope every one of you is well…
SO this was on my mind and i just wanted to share it…now this isn’t about any GS-designer, so its not a review of any sorts…but just sharing my own experience…
Right now i am visiting Pakistan…about a month before I left, I placed an order for a suit that I could wear by Eid, mostly b/c I didnt have eid clothes and , simply b/c I just loved the design 
Ok anyway I was going to order from a GS-based designer for the first time but i asked my parents to take care of it (i.e., visit the “designer”, pick it up etc). But at their recommendation I ordered from another girl whose a friend of my cousin’s. Well now that was a big mistake…the girl is so bad at communicating…she emailed me once for every 3-4 emails I sent her, didn’t pick up my calls, wouldn’t call me…I gave her my budget and she went double. When i get to Pak, she says my mother told her to stop the order (even though I know she didn’t) but fi I wanted it by Eid, she would make it. Okay so we give her half payment and the size of hte kameez and she says she will have it ready by Thursday night. Thursday night comes and goes and shes not answering any of my calls or texts. In fact, the only time she would even reply to me was if I spoke to my cousin to talk to her.
Finally Friday night she gives hte outfit and its just…horrendous.
The basic design is the same but the color is off–ok I can let that go. The fabric seemed too thick to be chiffon and it was stiff and not flowy like in the picture…again i can let that go too.
But the worst part of it was the kaam…she had it GLUED ON and the glue was still so visible…the beads were falling off as I was unfolding the dress!
She said “I told u it would be like that since u wanted it by Eid, I can fix it for you after Eid.” (she never specified that it would be like that, all she said was that it would be ready…not ugly looking).
When i asked her how long it would take to get ready once eid is over, she wouldn’t give me any answer..i asked her 3-4 times how long but she just kept saying “kab chaiye?”
I can usually let go of the “creative” aspect of things as long as the end result looks good and worth teh price I paid…I can even forgive that she went over my budget since the price turned out to be the same as i had been quoted by other GS-designers…however, the thing that had me so very annoyed was the lack of communication on the part of this girl. The outfit she delivered to me wasn’t even worth the half payment we had given her.
Now what would you have done in this situation? Screamed at the person? Refuse to pay them?
