What would you do in this situation?

Re: What would you do in this situation?

A very good friend of mine tells me stuff when she thinks my actions are un-islamic. Even though I might not listen to what she is saying all the time, I would not say that I mind her telling me.
Sometimes persistence helps ... you do not have to nag your friend all the time but an occasional reminder should not break the friendship.
If she is a true and good friend, you should be more concerned about her doing the right thing then just keeping the friendship.
May be if you have kids that are friends with the girls, they can subtly tell the girls that this is not right islamically. You never know whom Allah will give hidayat.
In my opinion if you lose haya/sharam, there would be so many more things that would seem acceptable. I have seen muslim girls wearing swim suits, skirts etc.
Also if you cannot do anything, atleast you can make dua for your friend and her girls.

^Don't most Muslim girls have to wear swimsuits for school swimming and stuff? Or do u mean in general..

Re: What would you do in this situation?

You did the right thing to voice your concern.

If things go awry for your friends kids... God forbid. You just did your bit and so rest easy.

I would not press the matter further... pray your friend comes to see the better path but alas you did your best sister.

Re: What would you do in this situation?

Well I have seen in general too !!
Mine was a co-ed class and I used to wear dance pants and a shirt on top along with the swim suit. I asked for special permission based on religion and I did not have any problem.

I know the pants show the leg shape so that was not very islamic either but gym pants were not practical or allowed.
I also used to wear gym pants and not shorts but there were girls who never bothered trying to ask if they could and just wore the shorts.
