Keep in mind, Islam never forbids you from having a Bible...

Then the guy is just being a jack-ass.

If there's nothing forbidding one to own a Bible, even from reading it (as increasing knowledge abt anything and everything is NOT haram!), then what gives him the right to be a jerk and to return a gift and to forbid others from accepting it?

With gifts, if u don't like them, u dont return it to the person b/c its really rude, just give it to someone else or keep it if they dntlike it...

What’s wrong with accepting a copy of the Bible? I would even say to read it. It would make you appreciate your own religion more. Appreciation of everything is based on comparing it with another. e.g. you can’t appreciate white if there was no black.

I wouldn’t care one way or the other. Its their personal preference, but reading the bible is not against islamic beliefs. Not all of it is fabricated.
