Just backbite about him to his family. Then backbite about him to your family. Then take it a little further and backbite about him to his friends. Get a bit more braver and backbite about him to his neighbors and the community. And then you just go all out and shame him in the newspapers. Don't forget the billboards too. When he becomes furious and confronts you, just tell him that you were being diplomatic and wanted the whole world to play a part in solving his problems.
That oughta teach him!!!

I was married to such a man ...........there is nothing u can do just run and run fast............remember one thing insaan ki fitrat nahi badalti no matter what you do for such a person he will not change.

neha, the way you say "backbiting", it sounds more like trickery and deception is involved. Is that the case here?

P.S i think the biggest problem here is mixing husband with fiance.....communicating a lot with fiance before marriage...

That just sucks! A husband and a fiance would be two different situations. For the fiance...rethink the pros and cons of the upcoming marriage...
For a husband... i think the wife should confront him, address the root of this attitude, demand that their problems be solved purely amongst the two...
AND..if nothing works...the wife could take a positive step and absolutely refuse to listen to the backbiting of the husband about his family. If one way succeeds, the other way may too...

Respect for your wife and her izzat is VERY VERY VERY important. Its first and foremost.
You need to speak to your family, voice your concerns, get them involved and clear this up!

desis don't usually have long extended engagements though just b/c you might get tempted to do stuff that is only done after marriage so how long can communication happen in the engagement period, not much i'm guessing.

what i have experienced (not personally but others around me) is that communication before actual marriage is bound to create problems.....once you are married..you know you are in it for the long haul...you know how important it is.......so you stay careful and behave cautiously
whereas in engagement period, nobody is bound, yet people behave as if they are husband/wife....which leads to arguments n stuff due to misunderstandings n all......but here they are not bound........so they behave less carefully..........and before you know it......things blow out of proportion

And all this time I though you were very sensible person and a good debater . Instead of just taking a cheap shot at what I said . If you go back to first post , she is asking what will you call such a husband/fiance , I said I will call such a person a transvestite. A real man will not backbite against his wife and her family. If he has balls he will be honest and open and will talk his grievances with the relevant party/parties not go on whining to others. A real man will be in control of the situation and not let the situation control him.
