Hello. I’m living in Japan and some of my friends from Pakistan are bringing their kids to Tokyo this summer.
The kids (one boy, one girl) are about 12 years old and I don’t know what kind of “Japanese” things they would be interested in.
Any ideas?

To Muzna: To be honest, I don’t really know them that well and I don’t know anything about kids that age. They are only coming for a couple of days and I was thinking they might be interested in video games and stuff?? Sorry, I don’t know what Japan is famous for in Pakistan.

to be honest, i think everything about tokyo will fascinate. so i guess akihabara. go look at some shrines? perhaps do one day as a day trip outside tokyo? Mt. Tsukuba? Okutama?
now, when can i come and stay with you? you can take me to kozu island.

I was about 11 when in I was Tokyo traveling from Pakistan with my family (this was a while back).
I enjoyed the National Gardens, Shrines (one was enough), walking in the downtown area (outside Shibuya Station), ridding in the famous Japanese Trains.
I would avoid Shopping and too much historical things.
10 and 12 are fun ages. Maybe watching a Sumo wrestling fight or dress up in authentic Japanese kimonos and take pictures.
Isn’t there a Disney land in Toyko?

Akihabara is a good idea, thank you! Never heard of Kozu island though, what’s that?

long ride on bullet train should do. We in Pakistan are obsessed with bullets and trains
