ASALAM O ALIKUM All,

                            Here is my question what we suppose to do when someone who is non-muslim sneeze around you...Being a muslim should we say for him Yarhamko Mullah or not ??? I know Normally we say YarHamko Mullah in return. I know when I sneeze they say GOD BLESS YOU, I say Thank you in return.

Walikum salam, Say the same prayer. It is more important prayer when the beneficiary is non muslim.
Every non-muslime is potentially a muslim. They need our prayers too

Allah Yarhamak or
Yarhamak ullah basically means May Allah have mercy on you - When one says this with the intention that the receiver truly should get mercy from Allah then it is questionable.

If someone sneeze and that person does not say Alhumdullilah, can one(who hear that person sneezing) still say yarhumukullah? in other words, when you hear a person saying Alhumdullilah then you can say yarhamukullah?

And is it okay to say "bless you" to a non-muslim when he/she sneeze?

A. Walaikum Assalam,

You're not supposed to say Yarhamukallah if he didn't say Alhamdulillah because the Prophet Sallallahulaihai wasallam didn't do it, so if you hear someone sneezing without saying Alhamdulillah then remind him to say Alhamdulillah and after that you could tell him Yarhamukallah.

To tell a non Muslim "Bless you" depends on your intention. In general it's a courtesy thing just like saying Hi, but if you mean Allah bless you and you know Allah will not bless them for their disbelief then you can't do it. Or if they have it in their religion as a religious thing then you can't also say it. But if it's just like any other greeting then it's ok to say it.

^JazakAllah Antumul Alona........I think we can say ' bless you ' with this intention that may Allah bless you and guide you towards the right path, which is islam.

Greetings earthlings... how about saying Gesundheit? It is the German and Yiddish word for good health and what I think secular people around here are comfortable with saying when someone sneezes.

Ditto! I say “Yarhamuk-Allaah” to Muslims and “(may Allaah) bless you (with Islam/Guidance)” to Non-Muslims/Kaafirs.

In our beloved Prophet’s :saw: time the Jews would sneeze in his presence hoping he would say “Yarhamuk-Allaah (may Allaah have mercy on you)” to them as was the custom of the Muslims but instead our Prophet :saw: would say “Yahdeekum Allaah wa yuslihu baalakum (may Allaah guide you and reform you).”

If he already didn't, ask him to cover his face with his hands.
Religion does not matter in this case.

Thats a bit rude...isn't it?

In Islam we have something thats called ' manners ' or ' adaab '. And we remember God or seek his refuge from the evil everytime through our actions, when we eat, when we sleep, when we walk up stairs, when we walk down stairs and even when we sneeze,we remember God.

I just wanted to make sure becoz being a muslim I think we should know these matters.... & impliment these things in our daily life.

Ya its rude and difficult to say too, but I guess you could indicate in some other way.
These manners (or adab) are there everywhere, and if everyone followed them then there was no problem.
