Re: What was your pre-wedding beauty ritual?

drink lots of water - make sure you moisturize your skin and dont go out without applying spf
i used besan mixed with haldi and yogurt for my arms, legs and face to clean out my complexion - worked wonders
other than that a good nights rest and exercise pretty much does the trick!

Re: What was your pre-wedding beauty ritual?

i was drinking lots of water, fresh squeezed juices, exercising, using Shiseido's White Lucent skincare line and also their sunscreen. Both things are amazing specially since i had no tan at all while i was going out everyday in karachi in june and july. Also used hydrating and cooling masks atleast twice a week.

Then during the last two weeks a woman came over everyday to do ubtan.

theres nothing wrong with a tan on a wedding? glowing!

you did look gorgeous tho. what is your fav cooling mask :)?

Re: What was your pre-wedding beauty ritual?

i still don't understand... what is the purpose of ubtan?

Re: What was your pre-wedding beauty ritual?

  • I stopped drinking fizzy drinks and eating junk food. Kept a healthy diet.
  • I got my bridal make-up done before to see how it would look on me and tried out lots of different looks until I was happy with the chosen one!
  • Joined in with all the fun as much as possible to keep myself happy!
  • Went to Dentist to get teeth whitened!
  • Spent my last weekend at a spa with my Mum and sisters and we spoiled ourselves!
  • Got facials done and got a lot of massages to help me relax.
  • Most importantly try to stay happy, try to not get stressed and feel your best!
  • Have fun on your wedding and make beautiful memories to last a lifetime!

“Ubtan is the traditional body pack and beautification process used for brides and bridegrooms in India…”

…preparation of ‘Ubtan’ itself is a fairly enjoyable task for ladies in India. The paste is applied to the whole body for 25 to 30 minutes thereafter scrubbed before taking the customary bath. It helps to improve and tighten sagging skin and keeps the skin glowing for a long time. Earlier it was also customary to make special cosmetics for ladies of high rank and social classes, by adding several other aromatic herbs, yoghurt, milk cream, honey and essence of flowers. just wondering wt u mean by getting ubtan done...? I've heard this alot...

Re: What was your pre-wedding beauty ritual?

how long ago before the wedding did u guys start this?

where can i get the shiseido line?

Interesting list
i agree its more imp about what you’re putting in than what you’re putting on top of skin
what is min sun?
and the buffing cream seems interesting
does it dry up and then u rub it to remove it? what difference do you see? and if you don’t mind then do tell me what your skin type is
i have dry skin so it may work great for oily or normal skin but not so much for me
and i hope people still do things to maintain their beauty after getting married too lol
i am getting married in 2 months IA so i was thinking of starting a good routine

Depends on where u live
in canada it's easily available at sears, bay, sephora and holt renfrew

its minimal sun...(exposure) :)
and yes it dries up so you can exfoliate by rubbing it off.
makes the skin radiant, smooth, and looks like i just had a facial..(i dont get facials) :)

i have dry-combination skin...but gets oily depending on the time of the month..
the buffing cream is for dry skin..because it leaves the skin moisturized...very smooth and hydrated.

Re: What was your pre-wedding beauty ritual?

lol at min sun
i get it now :)
well i can't avoid the sun so i just wear sunscreen besides i am not worried about being tan as i hardly ever get a tan on my face just a bit on my hand

i wonder if that brand is available in canada
i used something similar from clinique about 2 yrs ago ... the turnaround thing when you put it on and after sometime you rub it off and it's supposed to give you results like an at home microdermabrasion but i wasn't impressed with it and i didnt like to do the aggressive rubbing :)
