what was your great/grandparent's profession

My great grandparents were poor landless farm laborers.......and now our family would probably be the richest in the village. (They would be proud).

My maternal grandfather was in the british army, served in WW2, then was in All Indian Radio and then moved to USA and brought everyone over.

My paternal grandfather was a poor farm worker, however he made sure that my dad got his education and my dad became a ranking Indian diplomat.

Farmer - owned a small piece of land

Paternal:
practiced law - and then he became a dipty collector or something like that in his area.

Only two generations ago there were so many farmers.

Is there anyone here who is still professionally or socially doing the same thing that their great grandparents did?
