(NOT for ABCDs - This is strictly for those guppies who came to USA or Canada as immigrants - at , say around 14 / 15 years of age)
Mine was as a Security Guard at a condo complex in downtown toronto
$9.30 / hr.
Did that for about 3 weeks only, then got this other proper job
but that security job was too much fun
my first job was in a desi grocery store when i was 15 yrs old and i got paid $5/hr i worked there till i turned 18. After that, i worked for fast foods and alot of other places and Alhumdulillah now working for computers.
When i applied here i never knew that they can give this job to some new desi out of so much gorraz, but i think some how in interview they guessed that i know some thing about computers :D
i was paid tutor at high school $10/ hr then one of the teacher left so they put me on her place and i litreally teach over there for one year.
now i am plnning o work in hospital , i am certified regiesterd nurse , plus i am monitor tech. :)
FIRST one? at 14...data entry operator from home, was paid 10c for every record...
uskay baad line laga di thee jobs ki.. from sales help to gas station to coffeeshops, to contruction help, to short-term installation projects, to (:D) modelling, to operations and now, emergency planning..
^^ i dunno how should i feel about the people who never worked :-) i kinda feel sorry for them.. kinda envy them too, maybe hate them at a lil level too in there, (because of envy) khair, everyone's halaat are different..
i adored this girl.. she worked for pretty much every thing.. supporting family when financial crises/troubles were there, transportation to school, to get herself married, and MANHHH! she got married LONG away from here :-) there was a time when her family wasnt around for her... yet she still made it through everything :-)
i think my main reason was to have 'pocket money' .. even in pk i was working for my dad.. cuz since i had farmayeeshain, i kinda felt bad in asking for money to do this.. do that.. i kinda started working-for-money concept really early..
