Re: what was the first thing you cooked after marriage?
Apple you got married? I didn’t know. So sooo happy for you girl.
As for cooking after marriage, I am kind of scared of that rasam where the new bride cooks some meetha for the family. What if i screw it up? Can we use packet stuff? hehe
You should cook Biryani, Shami kabab and some vegetable.
Re: what was the first thing you cooked after marriage?

there was no rasam like that in my inlwas side so i was frrreeeeee

Re: what was the first thing you cooked after marriage?
That is a relief! In my in-laws there is a proper rasam of cooking meetha. I hope I can make something really yummy. I was thinking of Zarda or kheer or gajar ka halwa.
Re: what was the first thing you cooked after marriage?
Exactly!!
I can tell you the ingredients adjust it according to the quantity of Qeema, i tell you for one KG qeema (I remember my spoons for measurement but it is safe to use) :
Ingredients
Yogurt 1.5 cup
Ghee/Oil/Butter 4 tbsp
Fried Onion 2 medium sized (fried till brown)
Ginger/Garlic Paste 2TBsp
Red chilli powder as per taste
Salt as per taste
Garam Masala 1 Tsp
Dry Coriender Seeds (Grinded) 1 Tsp
1 TBsp of Raw Papaya (I dont use and it turns out yummy even without it)
You can also add 1-2 TBsp Shan Tikka masala or tandoori masala or any other available in addition to red chilli and salt for taste/aroma (I never use whole packets in any dish)
Piece of coal for dum/smoke
Add all the ingredients except Coal into yogurt and stir/mix well.
Add the mixed yogurt into qeema and marinate for 3-4 hours, if you dont have time marinate for 1 hour at least
After 3-4 hours simply cook the marinated qeema over medium heat and let the qeema simmer in separated water of yogurt for 20 mins and afterwards bhoonify it till the oil seperates.
Once it is done, take a piece of coal and heat it over fire till it turns into glowy red.
Place this coal over a foil (I placed it on a small steel plate, you can use a piece of bread too) add a few drops of cooking oil over it and place it in the cooking pot and immediately cover it with lid tightly and wait for 15 mins.
After 15 minutes, remove the coal and enjoy dum ka qeema with lacha paratha
It took me more time to type the recipe than to actually cook it, It is that easy!!
