by my mom when we were on our way to a place... We were at the airport and going through the security checks..She put her hand on me back n said "Mera farmabardaar putar, Allah tenu khush rakhay".. Sorry getting a bit emotional here.. Even at that time I felt so good and can't forget it...that's been the best compliment I've ever had..Besides she swears at me or sometimes calls me good stuff..I love it all..That's motherly love I guess, but yeah I love her loads..

When ever some one says "you are handsome" or "you are smart"
I bring mix feeling of strong disbelief + over whelming joy.

PS: I can count on one hand the times I heard it. :(

Most memorable one is the first time my hubby and I met.

At uni, I went over to a group of people i knew to talk to them, and he was there with them. Whilst we were talking i turned to him and said something like ’ hi i haven’t seen you around here, what’s your name?'… and he said…not hi, not his name…he said

‘you look like a floating angel’

To which everyone burst out laughing… i knew he was the one ever since.

The rest i receive are the usual clichés, so this one stands out the most.

1 Post reminded me about my mom said "You are the best bachcha I got and you never gave me hard time to in bringing up".

lol...every single of them is understandable except the monkey one. [only joking]

okay ....when i arrived at London for the first time I was traveling alone, the immigration officers started asking me questions and then started talking about my eyes etc...I was only 18 or 19 and was quite puzzled and almost harrased. I didn't tell this to anyone for a long time as I was scared.

Now I think they're probably trying to be nice but they really scared the hell out of me.
