Why dont you use chiffon in the middle and use the velvet as panels, get the work done on the chiffon? Its really in these days. Mostly threads and motifs designs -

I am also making myself a velvet dress, it;s a paneled frock, dark blue and black.
I stitched the panels together last night, gona complete it today. I am going to put very small pearls on gala, sleeves and flayer.

I think pearls look so good on velvet, especially on dark colors.

I think diamontees would look nice, but dhabka work as well which is in-fashion.

Mine is complete with pearls. It looks good :) I did want to put diamontees but cudn;t find them, and the diamonte lace is way too expensive, 4-5 hundred per yard!!!!

Here it is, there are pearls along neckline, but are not very visible in the pic.

Why dont u make a gown out of velvet with work on the front open borders and make a same color undershirt with pants. Dopatta can be contrasting colors as used in the work may be. A whole velvet suit is not for every one.

I have seen ur video's they r wonderful. I really can't sew i have small kids so it's hard to find the time but would love to later on because i have 2 girls so i love to be creative with their outfit's. Thanks.
