I am wondering what kind of topics/books average people in Pakistan usually read?!
As far as my experience, I see people around me reading books on Islam. Things like Islamic history, Islamic morals, Quran, hadith, etc … or newspapers. I have hardly seen anyone perusing books on child development, economy, world history, etc.
BTW, I am only talking about pleasure reading. It is not about course work.
So what do YOU think? What topics/books do you see people around you reading?

Yes, the novels and khawateen digests. Another genre.
And if someone is literary type then sher o shairi ka shughaf bhi rakhte hein ,
All that is ok. Problem that I see is that there is not much emphasis on self improvement books.

:nono: I think books like ‘Bivi se jhoot bolne ke 101 tareeqe’ type books are also in demand

Dunia ki her aafat se bachne ke ooper books hai. they are technically call ‘Disaster Recovery Plan’
On a serious note, I’ve seen people buying books like ‘Seven Good habits’, dale carnegi books and its translations like ‘Meethe bol main jadu’. Latest trend is buying translation of books like ‘La Tahzan’ which deals how to recoup from difficult situations in life by quoting examples from the Prophet’s life.
