Hello everyone I am new here!!
So I live in Florida. My fiance is from Jamaica. Our wedding is next year. I was actually wondering if anyone had any ideas about integrating typical Pakistani wedding with an American wedding format. We’ll have our nikkah first at the masjid (like a week before). We are planning on doing an American ceremony for friends, colleagues, and co-workers.
I was thinking I would put:
groomsmen in shalwar kameez and bridesmaids in anarkali and me and the fiance could dress in western clothes.
or
Me and Fiance wear Pakistani clothes while the bridesmaid and groomsmen wear western clothes.
I want to incorporate the Pakistani culture in the wedding as much as possible without it being a completely desi wedding because well my fiance is not from Pakistan so.
All of my friends had normal desi weddings but I know that people have western ceremony’s in desi clothes and stuff but I just never been to one. So any help with concepts and ideas would be appreciated.
