What to wear in pakistan??

We are going to islamabad for a short trip in late december. Since its really cold there, i will need some sort of winter gear over my pakistani clothes, but what should i bring? If anybody has been there recently, what do the ladies prefer? Jackets, coats, or just sweaters? If coat then long or short? If jacket does leather work better or otherwise? I havent ever visited pak in winter so I actually have no concept of what pak winters are like.

Thick sweaters, socks, warm leggings. If u get REALLY cold generally...take a leather jacket. People in pakistan don't really wear jackets, from what i've seen cos during the day the weather is very pleasant. I've spent winter in Pakistan and sweaters/thick cardigans/zip-up sweatshirts do the trick. I always wore my North Face sweater...it was perfect for that weather.

Islamabad gets very cold. We went to Muree as well and there was like a metre of snow so if you are planning to go there definitely take a coat.

leather jackets, sweaters everything works, leg warmers. also

Re: What to wear in pakistan??

I like to take shawls or something you can drape over your clothing. I think in the day-time it's more bearable. Take some cardigans and you can also get some fleece lined leggings to wear underneath your shalwar/pyjami if you get very cold.

Re: What to wear in pakistan??

You'll see a lot of people wearing coats and jackets in the winter in Islamabad, so feel free to take yours along. It does get very cold there, and with the gas and electricity loadshedding, the more layers you have on, the better.

Everything goes. I've seen uggs, long coats, pants but also shawls. Younger folks stock with coats/ jackets.
