I’m here with an odd question:o
May be it will be not an important issue for you but i really feel awkward whenever i ask someone in.I keep on thinkin’ what to say?
Should i ask him/her like AAiye pani waghaira pee kar jaaiye ga/thanda pee kar jaaiye ga etc…?
please help… and i want this(hell) in urdu.
what should be my sentence/words…(whatevea)
Awww... i feel for u. i m totally bad in this stuff. not that my urdu is any bad, its just that its all sooooooo formal and proper, i dunno how to say it!!
u cud say, ap kya leingi chai, thanda? khana khaa ke jayiegha or chai peeke jayega.. aise acha nahi lagta, kuch kha ke jiye. when serving... yeh lijiye... aap nay yeh lia.... before goin, anay ka shukria.. bahat maza aya. phir ayi ga
ummmmm.....ok my friend has come and she is with her father.so what should i say to her father like uncle aap aaiye pani waghaira pi kar jaaye ga.......kia kahonn mein????though i know her father will not come inside......but you know i 'l have to say something?:D
Whats with the waghaira thing going on mate????? U cud say Please uncle aap behtiye ga me aatha hun ... or aap inkaar na karein me aatha hun...... or u cud have uncle sat inside and then bring in the hospitality tray without announcing anything??/!!!!! What d'you reck?????
Yes poppies is right in a way. if you know you have something in kitchen, like juice or cold drinks , just get the tray ready and put it infront of them.
And if he is not inside the home yet and on gate, you can say , Uncle plz ander aa jaain, aap pehli baar humaray ghar aain hain. Khana kha kar jaain. etc. He will most prolly say.. nahin beta thank you phir kissi aur din sahi. abhi jaldi hai. Then u can say to ur friend... Beena (for exmple) ab tumhari zimma-daari hain uncle ko dobara laana. then give a huge smile to both and Allah Hafiz.
You do not have to be soooooooooooooooooooo formal with guests specially when u do not know them, and not free with them. Coz if you act so formal they may take it in wrong way too. Believe me this happens.
Btw if you really want to stop someone for lunch or dinner or tea, the words will come out of you naturally.
PS. you dont have to do ..kijiey lijiye rakhiye jaaiye aaiye.... no one uses such words now days. just say kar dain, kha lain, lay lain, aa jaain, bhaar mein jaain ;) etc.
Thanks fairy tale- some gud advice given!!! I thought its all part of the old fashioned romance to say .. ji app lijiye and stuff??? ( May im too old fashioned?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

haaaahaaa............bharr mein jaain ;):Di ought to say that
Lets say they are standing at the door and you want to invite them in...say something like: "Uncle, andar ayie, mein apke liye chai banati hoon...chai pi ke jaiyega". If they are really in a hurry and try to beg off then say "acha theek hai, lekin agli dafa aap chai/khana/whatever karke jayega"
If they stay, then you make some chai, make sure there is a light snack with it aso.
