ok i have a checklist and all, just wanted to know what you guys put in your hispital bag ready for labour…im 32 weeks, ive been told to get my bags ready anytime from now? ISNT IT bit early? either way, what did you put in urs?
Re: what to pack in hospital bag?
It’s not too early. It’s just going to get harder and harder for you to organize things and move about, so why take the chance.
My baby came at 35 weeks, and I was on bed rest for the weeks before it. I didn’t really have a chance to organize much. Go ahead and do it while you can!

don't forget chargers for cell phones etc.
Re: what to pack in hospital bag?
The 2nd link gives good suggestions. Check what your hospital provides, cuz most hospital provides all the baby needs and you just need to bring stuff for when you go home and what baby will wear. Also you pj's etc. Bring some snacks that can hold you down in between hospital meals. My hospital had blah food so I was thankful for my mom cooking yummy food and bringing it each night. It was like a little picnic lol cuz all of my family would come to visit me and we would all eat together, it was very sweet of them even though I was drugged up on morphine after the c-section :)
Oh hopefully yours will be natural delivery...but if you do end up with a c-section, remember when you are able walk...walk and walk!!!
Re: what to pack in hospital bag?
pre washed baby clothes(so they dont cath allergies from the chemicals). pjs, snacks, bath set, a charged mobile with credit! Rest of the things, the hospitals usually provide for so you dont need to worry too much.
Just keep on squatting from your ninth month, it helps with the delivery.
Re: what to pack in hospital bag?
Most NHS hospitals have tightened their belts hun, so pack everything including maternity pads and baby nappies.
Take all your usual stuff like shampoo and so on, as well as towels, pj's, dressing gown, slippers, flip-flops (for the shower room), nursing bra, desposible knickers etc etc. Hasn't your midwife given you a list of recommended stuff to take? Don't bother with stuff like birthing/yoga ball. Relaxation tapes/CD's are usually left at the bottom of your bag so are a waste of money (in my friends humble opinion). Don't forget clothes you'll want to wear to go home in. Oh and maybe something decent to wear for photos (if that floats your boat).
Have you got babies stuff ready? Things like muslin squares, sleepsuits, coming home clothes?
PS Nadz, 32 weeks ain't early at all. I'm 22 weeks and I've already started planning my packing!
Re: what to pack in hospital bag?
Don't forget cozy socks, I forgot last time... never will I do that again, the hospital ones were yucky.
Also buy some lanolin and keep it in the bag already if you're planning on breastfeeding and start using it now... will help a lot after you start nursing.
