im so nervous about it, its 2mrw afternoon so scared. im scared about the baby, inshall everything will be fine, as well as, this may sound silly, but im worried about exactly how low do your trousers go when they scan, i mean ive seen the pics, so i know its not toooo low, but im a weirdo, and my main concern at the moment is my trousers being too low…and what exaclty will be on show..lol..silly or what..
so anyway guys, what exaclty happens at the 12 weeks scan, how long does it take and what do you do…i want a pic, but i guess theres a charge for it right…
generally though me just a bag of nerves right now..inshallah end of 2mrw il be happy…

Hi nadz123, congratulations on your 12th week scan, it's going to be great, inshallah. I'm at 15 weeks right now, alhamdulillah, and on my 12th week scan the doctor did not do an ultrasound through my stomach but inserted a longish device in me and thats how she was able to check the baby, the heartbeat, etc. She did, however, manually check my uterus for any visible abnormalities, and that's about it. I've had 3 scans so far, on both my 8th and 12th week, the doctor has checked me internally, and on my 13th week scan, which was at a hospital (an indepth analysis of the growing baby's brain, limbs, neck, etc) the technician did one on my stomach. So don't worry about your pants being too low, just imagine seeing your baby and listening to it's heartbeat, inshallah. And you don't pay for the scan pics; the doctor just hands it to you each time they scan you. Good luck!

it will be fine Nado! She will tell you to unbutton your jeans or lower your pants, just below your tummy and part of your pubic bone, as you are really early and baby is down below. They will check the heartflashes and size the baby up and give you your due date, they will do your bloods on you after and you can also get a pic and yes sometimes you do have to pay. I paid £5 for mine. Good luck and let us know how it went.

Ditto with the previous poster and if they want to do an internal scan, do ask for a reason n if u r uncomfortable with that, its perfectly ok to politely refuse.
Over here in pak u don't have to pay extra for the pic.

for the actual birth there will be no pants on .. so then u will not have to worry about how low the pant will be. :)

anyway thank allah, the scan went perfectly well, you could see everything, the arms heartbeat, head evrythingggggg, so far am happy, looks normal....
and i paid £3 for 4 pics, didnt need to lower pants too much...:]

great everything went wonderful.. wait for the 20 week scan when they can tell u the sex.. that is one amazing scan!

oh yeah, at that time you just want that baby out of you! 
but i can understand where nadz is coming from. it’s her first time, so everything is new. glad everything went well with your scan! now make sure to save those pictures so that when baby gets older, you can show him/her what they looked like inside you
