But a pregnancy guide? This is the idea behind What to Expect When You’re Expecting, a movie pitch based on the best-selling book for moms-to-be by Heidi Murkoff (with Sharon Mazel). According to Variety, screenwriter Heather Hach – who just so happens to be pregnant herself – was in a bit of a bidding war over the pitch, which finally sold to Lionsgate.

Because films like *He’s Just Not That Into You * and the upcoming *Valentine’s Day *have created a trend in ensemble rom-coms, *What to Expect When You’re Expecting *will follow a whopping seven couples on their way to the maternity ward. Take that, single-couple comedy Nine Months! What I’m expecting is a finale that tops the one in Parenthood](Parenthood (1989) - Movie | Moviefone), in which I think every female character was either in labor or visibly preggars.
