i think if your both in the same boat it would be best to sit down with parents on both sides and make them understand.. dont give up just because ur parents said no.. if you truly think tht this is the man you want to be with than there has to be a way through this.. your parents havent met the guy they dont really know him that well to an extent that they feel safe and secure.. so you need to give them the information and maybe even set up a meeting so that they can meet with him..
but if your parents still are hell-bent on not letting you marry this guy then there maybe something that you might not be able to see that they might be worried about.. sitting down and talking to them is the best option..
my cousin got away with the whole "agar iss se shadi nahi hui to kissi se nahi karoongi".. and about a week into the whole drama her parents agree'd and they actually are pretty happy with the choice their daughter made..
learn to stand up for what you believe in.. if your in love then fight for it.. crying wont really solve the matter..
