What is it with you girls, its not your engagement or wedding, its just your graduation! We men would usually just wash our face with a face wash and shave and later MAYBE put on a moisturiser. Oh and the day before maybe go for a haircut too :p
LOL.... don't be offended, my girlfriend, soon to be fiance was going through the same. She actually saw a skincare consultant/nutritionist 3 months in advance so her face would 'glow' as she would call it 'on the day' as she was told by her therapist any facial won't help if your own skin isn't looking nice. Anyway, she spent 'some' money, and still looks great months after the graduation. you should do it, there's nothing wrong with looking great, but you should only do it to continue looking great, not just for a day i guess.
Cut out all chocolates, crisps, fried foods i.e. junk food for at least 1 month b4 your event.
Drink LOTS and LOTS of water (but don't over do it bcos some ppl actually can die of over-diluting the salts in their bodies.) I think they usually say 8 glasses a day is enough.
Eat lots of salads and fruit and fish. I heard something about trying to cut down red meat, but if u do, make sure u take iron supplements.
A colleague used to eat a grapefruit twice as a snack, (meaning she ate properly at other times) and since she started doing that, her hair and skin became really healthy looking. But thena gain she also cut out unhealthy fats etc.

lol, what are you taking about? i have seen guys just as bad if not worse! all those graduates who are gonna be working in the city fussing over their designer suits, getting manicures, eyebrows done blah blah.
maybe you're right, but I mean, my girl spent like GBP 500 on a single day of skincare and the entire thing that followed for 2-3 months of care, i can't even imagine what that might have cost. I dont think guys wanna spend like that on their face.
^that's coz you are not as ~~beautiful~~ as us. haha.
i don't think it'll be long before they start all that either!
where did your girl go? personally i've seen that in london they take the whole thing a lot more seriously (in terms of dressing up like you're going to a wedding) than uni's in the rest of the country. the day of the black skirt or trouser and white shirt is long gone.
My Post Grad Graduation is coming up and I need to prepare. In terms of trying to get my skin/hair to look half decent.
Pics from my previous graduation were FUGLY and I cannot let that happen.
I was thinking of getting a proper facial done, from a proper posh place. How many days in advance would I need to organise that for?
Also, what fruits and other green grass stuff should I be eating for healthy looking, naturally glowing skin?
Thanks.
i know how you feel! my undergrad graduation was 2 days after i got back from a 5 week trip from pakistan, i had lost like 5kg and was looking terrible!
so for my masters grad i made a more effort but i still didn't get my hair done or anything because i had to leave home at 7am - where are you gonna get a blow dry at that time of day.
anyway, i plan to go all out for my phd grad muahaha!
anyway, when is your grad? you should probably have a course of treatments rather than just a one off and nothing too near the day itself.
make sure you take care of your hands and nails, probs go for a manicure the day before.
get a nice haircut but about 2 weeks before the day itself. get some conditioning treatments to get it looking really shiny.
I think you can even pay a professional to come to your place early morning to help you get ready. would be worth it. my friend in london did that on our graduation day and she was looking better than me (I thought I always looked better than her no matter what so I guess the professionals do make a difference), i felt stupid later for thinking she was stupid earlier :D
^ yea microderm wud be nice
also do cleansing at home every 2-3 days and and try olay night cream
:)
take gud care of urself keep urself pampered n stuff
gudluck
drink lots of water and increase your daily intake of dairy products like milk, yogurt, etc. drinking lots of water helps give a natural rosy glow on your face and makes your skin look and feel amazing. as for fruits and vegetables, eat everything! its all good for you and also take a lot of rest. you can be on a great diet but if you aren't well rested you're going to look tired and its going to kill your mood! good luck :)
Never gotten any skin treatments at Aveda BUT their products are pretty good.
I know you're looking for skin care but just in case you dont get much rest the night before or are tired (hopefully you will get plenty of rest) there is this amazing little pen by Dior that I was introduced to recently that does wonders for tired eyes or just about any trace of fatigue. Its called Skinflash - Radiance Booster Pen. I just love this stuff...I dont even use foundation anymore.
haha, well, I hope you do get engaged and married happily one day inshAllah
i think she went somewhere in mayfair. if you wanna know precisely i can ask her and get back to you. gotta admit, she was lookin quite fabulous on the day and still does. I think she didnt just do a skin care thing, she went for the whole deal like body toning and all. phew! when I get old, i think my wife would know where to send me to get what kinda help, that’s a releif! :o

Please do ask your mrs for us about the salon she went to though, that would make up for hoping I get married! :D
