After getting my facial hair threaded, i get some reaction on my face in the form of red pimples, which further grow and leave marks on my face. Any suggestions??
Re: What to do?
after threading use some pure aloe vera gel on the area, keep using it for a few days. also dab some tea tree oil on the area but not immediately, like before you go to sleep on the same day. use that a few times too. you can get diluted tea tree oil from the body shop, it comes in a little dropper bottle and is the right concentration for applying directly to skin.
Re: What to do?
i also have this problem....
i use dettol mixed with water n wash my face or arms legs before wax or threading.now there is no pimple.
Re: What to do?
One of the reasons is oil from your pores. When you pull hair out from the follicle, as happens when you do threading, you irritate the follicle and the pores becomes inflamed and appears like a pimple. To prevent that, use ice and go over the area you are planning to thread. Numb the area with ice and then do the threading. This will cause your pores to contract and hold firmer while you thread. Then after you thread, before you use aloe vera or tea tree oil, numb it again. This should prevent the red pimples or bumps on your face.
i know it's too late but try waxing instead of threading. my sis's cosmetician advised her not to thread, because the cosmetician herself tried it and now has resistant 'hard' hair on her upper lip. but it could be an isolated experience..just saying though as a note of caution
as for the red spots, probably dead skin and bacteria which lives naturally on your face fell into your pores and is causing an inflammatory reaction. so i would use an exfoliating cleanser in the am and use benzoyl peroxide at night. since you will be exfoliating your skin, be extra careful with sun avoidance.

you will get that with waxing over time too. most of the facial areas are sensitive to hormones (mainly the lower face) and when you start hair removal, the finer vellus hairs will return coarser and darker over time.
from what i know i think threading upsets the hair growth more than waxing because of the angle at which the hair is pulled out. so waxing would be preferable BUT however lightly, it still tugs and at the skin and you also don't want that happening on your face. it's a catch-22.
