long haul, watch in flight movies,play games,read magazines...never sleep....:)
intentionally have layovers thus far have visited,Milan,Amsterdam,eftileng...
,abu dhabi and dubai also give stopover with fab hotels...:)

On long flights i watch whatever movies theyve got if any i like the sound of. Listen to my mp3 player. I took my ds once but never used it. Mainly i spend my time moving about restlessly in my seat cos after a couple of hours im usually sick of sitting and feel achey and uncomfortable. i try and sleep but only manage 10 minutes here and there. i hate long flights!
at stopovers, look in the shops, buy a few snacks to eat, try and walk around rather than sit knowing il be sitting for hours to come in the plane.

long flight.. I sleep! and I sleep really well just because I am usually sleep deprived before traveling and keep telling myself that I will sleep through the flight... I get in grab two blankies, curl in my seat and sleep.. I usually tell the flight attendant not to wake me up for food drinks etc anyway so I dun get disturbed!
layovers.. I window shop, read maganizes in one of the bookstores and sometimes buy a souvenir or two if I dun have one already! or tryto find wifi so I can browse GS for time pass :D

on a long flight i usually sleep. or quickly see what's offered in the in-flight entertainment and watch a movie or two.
on a lay-over walk around a bit, look at stores there. look for water. then i find a nice place to just sleep sicne i'm usually jet-lagged. otherwise i carry a book with me or watch something on my laptop.

Long flights: Try to sleep. If that doesn't work, watch in-flight entertainment or read a book
Layovers: If it's long enough, I'd go out and explore that place. I hate spending hours on end in an airport anyway and that way I not only avoid doing that, but also get to see a potentially nice place.

I usually carry my laptop with me and spend most of the time watching movies/TV shows on it. On my last trip, i watched all 3 season of Big Bang Theory.

6 hours stay at abu-dhabi ... tried to finish Thousand Splendid Suns
7 hours stay at frankfurt ... slept .. shop .. slept .. shop and shop and shop ..

if traveling with siblings then usually we have bukwas argumentative fights.
if traveling with parents, since my folks are old then always going through how I will manage with all the luggage.
if traveling usually looking at the cell-phone watch "K kub khatum hogi yeh flight".
