Re: what to do with wedding dress after the wedding?
yes because 80% of the time more money means more amount of work done on the dress hence making it not very wearable on events other than your own wedding:D.

Re: what to do with wedding dress after the wedding?
Thanks for all the great suggestions!
I dont think I can make pants for the shirt coz the shirt is really small! But I will definitely look into make a suit to wear with the dupatta. Also I dont think I will be able to wear again to anyone else's wedding coz they are too bridal!! So I guess I for the baraat dupatta I will look into making a matching shalwar kameez and the valima dupatta I will show it to a tailor and see is they think it could be converted into a sari somehow?! And the shirt/skirt of the lengha I will just keep for the kids. If I am able to successfully convert the dupatta into a sari Ill post up a pic to show you all in case anyone else would like to do it also

Have an anniversary party every year and wear it and take pictures. Then put it in one of those albums where it shows what you look like every year and it wil amaze you at the end of 10 years or so how the dress looks the same, but you seem to change!!

LOL ya thats if it still fits after a few years :p
Re: what to do with wedding dress after the wedding?

Re: what to do with wedding dress after the wedding?
i heard of a girl who made cushions for her living room with her dress (that way she could see it everyday and it would be of good use):P:P:P:P:P:P:P

I brought my mom's valima gharara back from Pak a few years ago. She had it made into a chaukie cover with cushions!
I was very upset.

Re: what to do with wedding dress after the wedding?
I just tried on my wedding dress (it's been 3 years) to make sure it still fits for my brother-in-law's wedding. It was so much fun!

Re: what to do with wedding dress after the wedding?
well what i;ve seen so far is
1) donate to some1 poor
2) make into a new suit by getting it undone and restitched
but my most favorite one is my mom kept the dupattas as is....and she gonna make a plain suit to go with her valeema dupatta and wear it at a very close family wedding... adn the nikkah dupatta which is very fancy and beautiful is going to be used to bring me in on the mendhi... like all my cousins r gonna hold mendhi adn candles and walk ahead and all my aunts r going to bring me under my mom's dupatta..i thought that was cute and hopefully i have a daughter i can do the same for her
