too liberal or too tight - false religious or cultural expectations, un equal mentality ppl, who are all about “take or suck”, and not about giving and respecting personal space.
everything abt these rishtas is suffocating loose or chocking tight. esp the ones on NE.

Best is buy some time and look for any family friends that fit the bill in terms of your expectations. This will help to cushion the impact and the expectations and then try to find some who fits the same mould. Long drawn process, but you can't teach old folks new ideas overnight.
